One is that this partner you are wanting to work with has a product or service that compliments your business, not competes with it. Second, and this is crucial to the success of a prosperous Joint Venture, you must be able to offer your new partner a benefit to doing business with you. More importantly you must offer a significant benefit to them that they can offer to their customers. If you do not offer a benefit to this partner what is their motivation to want to do business with you. But if you can offer a great benefit you will have a better opportunity to do more Joint Ventures with them and possible with other businesses that they know. You will build a reputation of being a good partner and be able to attract other potential Joint Ventures.
